I am not sure who will want to read my blog but if nothing else by writing it all down it releases some of my frustrations!
I am a working mum of four, one of whom has down's syndrome with a second diagnosis of ADHD, my current childprovider can no longer help during the holidays because of Jordans behaviour so I call an urgent appointment with social services.
They arrive and are quick to tell my they will not support me to work and will only provide respite services!!! WHAT!!! Mind you they told me the same 3 years ago but actually to date have still not had any respite services!!
During an hour long visit I explain how easy it is to access childcare for my 3 other children with support with financial help with working tax credits, I am offered a possible one day a week childcare facility 20 miles from my home that starts at 10'0'clock. I start work at 9!!
I made the comment that as Jordan is nearly 13 I could legally leave him at home whilst I work but then he would be at risk - reply - it is your responsiblilty to ensure he is not at risk!! I can't win I will probably have to leave my job, claim benefits which will not pay my mortgage, I could go on an on and on and am sure I will over time. AAAAAAARRRRRRRHHHHH!!!!!!
